As I worked on this still life painting it came to represent for me the Garden of Eden in the Genesis story. I won't explain why here because for me painting is not about comprehending through thinking but rather apprehending through doing, looking and seeing. This painting is typically "Chiaroscuro' in nature, that is it depends on the contrast between light and dark to describe the forms you end up seeing, if you look closely you will see edges appear and disappear, some edges don't even exist they just appear to and thin and thick passages of paint describe where light hits and then fades into darkness.
